Piccie-O-Fest

by cartlionel @ Saturday, 27. Jan, 2007 - 01:05:57

Before I started this blog, I used to post a fair number of pictures to my main blog. ViEiRA did exactly the same. So.. I thought it may be a good idea to move them all over here in one mega-super post! (oooh!) Maybe ViEiRA will follow suit at some point because she used to post some real gems.

Yeah ok, I have nothing to post today.. Well, I do.. I have lots of scanning to do but this has been put on hold as my scanner is now officially rubbish. :(

Pics been thumbnailed to prevent the page taking a year to load. Clicksy for larger versions.

Aston Villa swap fit player for fit player

by cartlionel @ Tuesday, 23. Jan, 2007 - 14:46:42

I'm really disappointed that Milan Baros has left Villa :( I think he only did it because it's only been a few days since I've realised just how dyingable he is. Well.. I always knew it but.. I didn't want to have his babies until now!

Milan Baros joins LyonJohn Carew joins Villa

But it's not all bad, Villa have got John Carew in return. First saw him when he played for Rosenborg, ages ago. and thought.. mmm he's nice.. and TALL.. ;)

Still hoping there is a way to see some French Football though..!

and.. this is why... :)
But we'll miss Milan..!

See? I like other sports too.. *cough*

by cartlionel @ Tuesday, 23. Jan, 2007 - 01:02:08

I got up "early" today, to watch.. *gasp* Tennis!

Here's why:

Rafa Nadal

Dressed to Thrill

by cartlionel @ Monday, 22. Jan, 2007 - 22:36:51

That was the name of the article from the Arsenal mag that Jenni got hold of at the weekend. Something that is almost impossible to get in Southampton :(

But look at these AAAHHHH! pics of Adebayor. I would happily go on a trek to London every month it it meant I got to see things like THIS!

Or.. I could just subscrible to it I guess :>>

Anyway, the article accompanying the AAAHHHH pics is about his love of clothes, how he has 200(!) pairs of shoes and used to go shopping every day.

Crikey...! And I thought my 4 pairs of shoes was more than enough... ;)

The Weekend's Action

by cartlionel @ Monday, 22. Jan, 2007 - 02:02:10

I'm going to be a tad biased here and say that this weekend's results were pretty sweet

And, lucky for the.. 4 readers of this blog, there were some nice pictures too! WHOOP! :>>

Lauren and Kanu
The Arsenal Retirement Home got another member. They look happy enough. Bless them.

Pedro Mendes
Pedro Mendes met his arch nemesis, Ben Thatcher for the fist time since that evil clash. You can just.. soo see Pedro wishing his eyes were daggers! ;)

Xabi Alonso Olof Mellberg
There was a lot of blood this weekend, Xabi Alonso and Olof Mellberg were the victims. (I don't know why but a bit of blood in any footy game just makes the game a tad more interesting!)

Shay Given
Shay Given suffered a groin injury. No more needs to be said about that!

Milan Baros
If it weren't for another Villa player. *cough* mm Milan Baros would so So SO be my favourite!

Nicolas Anelka
Apparently, Nicolas Anelka looks all sad and upset that his crappy team got thrashed. I dunno, he seems to be having a little giggle to me.. Maybe he finds it funny :>>

Vincenzo Montella
Fulham used to be a bit boring, No one exceptional to swoon over. Let's hope Montella stays there for ages. He brightens the place up somewhat.

Micah Richards
Micah Richards licking his lips? *dies*

Thierry Henry and Robin van Persie
Saving the best til last. I really love their reaction to the goal, they really really loved that sweet victory. Sadly, RvP, has broken a bone in his foot and will be out for a while. :(

GOAL!

by cartlionel @ Sunday, 21. Jan, 2007 - 02:34:31

I was at a loss as to how to spend my time this evening, So I decided to watch this film on Sky called GOAL! It was about this Mexican guy who happens to be a good football player and gets a trial at Newcastle United. I had a quick Google before it started to see whether it was any good or not, The main view was that it really wasn't good.

But I watched it anyway.

And, It was nice, I enjoyed it. I don't watch many films really so maybe I'm missing something, but there wasn't anything wrong with it at all! And apparently, there's a sequel next month. YAY!

Oh and the star was pretty fine eye candy. Kuno Becker. :>>

Rain? Mud? We don't have that in LA! ">I wanna be Anna Friel!

If he had wings..!

by cartlionel @ Saturday, 20. Jan, 2007 - 01:28:40

Vincenzo Montella scored a couple goals on Wednesday.

For Fulham?

When did that happen??? God i'm so slow on the transfer market front. :(

Anyway, I used to drool over him a few years ago but he never got too much of my attention as he was playing alongside Batigol.. - *dies at the thought* - and Totti.. by name, and by nature :>>

Competition for affection was tough going at Roma :))

Vincenzo Montella

Glad to see he still does he aeroplane impression. It's quite endearing.

I didn't miss the transfer of Lauren to Portsmouth though.. So long, we will miss you! x

Lauren

And, speaking of Portsmouth.. What is this about? The mind boggles... ;)

Who is this guy?

by cartlionel @ Saturday, 20. Jan, 2007 - 00:55:15

Zvone forwarded me this pic by mistake. My knowledge of Tennis is awful. So. enlighten me, please! He's a yummypants. ;)

Mystery guy

Marcos Baghdatis it is then. Although Zvone did try to convince me it was Andy Murray!! :|

The weekend's action

by cartlionel @ Sunday, 14. Jan, 2007 - 22:26:20

To start off with, I only found a couple pictures worthy of posting, but as I've not had.. much distraction today, I've been bored enough to find a few others..!

Unfortunately, nothing of Nicky Weaver now looking very much like a certain Aston Villa defender who I'd never turn down, or, any pictures of the loovely Niko Kranjcar. Someone that Match of the Day liked to focus on last night. Maybe next week then? *drool*

Ashley Young
I keep seeing this guy on Match of the Day, but not really caring so much about Watford, I never figured out who he was. Now I know, Ashley Young. And he is fit fit fit!

Benardo Corradi
Gary Speed appears to like spending his Saturday afternoons inspecting peoples necks. For love-bites perhaps?

Olof Mellberg
Seems Ollie knows he's been caught regarding the frequentness of putting his hands down his shorts and is now trying a different tactic and thinking about putting his hands up them instead.

Kanu
Bloody hell! Kanu's legs are LONG!

Georgios Samaras
Although Ivan Campo is doing his best to lure Georgios Samaras onto the floor with him, Samaras is having none of it and runs away in fear of catching the Campo hairstyle disease!

Gareth Southgate
Gareth Southgate is good at something after all! Superman!

Wayne Routledge
Wayne Routledge has a nice stomach... despite him being on loan from the evil Sp*rs :(

Thierry Henry
Not only did Henry score a wonder goal yesterday, he showed too much leg and, (possibly) let too much air into his shorts! Or, maybe it's not air at all...

Olof Mellberg
Mellberg, disgusted at Henrik Larsson's choice of club makes his feelings known while Larsson just hangs his head in shame...

Exclusive News!

by cartlionel @ Sunday, 14. Jan, 2007 - 21:27:36

Well.. it could've been if I'd written this yesterday but I was tired.

Remember the other day when I was moaning about pictures needing audio? Seems my wish has come true.

Over in the land of Croatia, there is an (illustrated) article about Goran Ivanisevic.

This translates to,

Goran Ivanisevic would like to do Wimbledon commentary for the BBC.

The pros of this is of course, Tennis will actually be a watchable sport unless it's on mute.

The only downside I can see is it will cause most of the female population to drop dead..!

Can't wait for Wimbledon. Can't wait to hear that delicious, too good to be allowed accent to filter through my ears.. Lalala...

Pinigol

by ViEiRA @ Sunday, 14. Jan, 2007 - 19:54:23

I'd never heard of this bloke before just then, I don't think. He plays football in the same bit of land as me, though not in the same country, and since this bit of land is only about 1000 miles north to south, you'd think I'd have noticed someone like this.

Mauricio Pinilla aka Pinigol, on loan at Hearts from Sporting Lisbon.

This is the first one I found, which made me go "EH WHAT?", and begin The Quest To Find Out Who He Is (I can't read Portuguese and "Pinigol" isn't a proper name).

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This is the most boring. Uphill all the way from here.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Told you they got better. The next two prove that he is a man of many HAIRCUTS. All equally attractive, don't you think?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This man is only 22. Probably not married. At least when I searched for his name and "wife", every wife story which came up was to do with Posh and Becks; they must have done something significant on the same day. Pinigol has even played for Celta Vigo against Arsenal, back in 2004: proof that I don't drool over the opposition!:)

Portuguese articles, which you find when researching Bixente Lizarazu (I know, isn't the internet odd?), yield much fruit. This is a tennis player called Gaston Gaudio, who is Argentinian and beat somebody good a long time ago.

Well, I hope you enjoyed our voyage of Latin American discovery today, and found somethingone to take home. Until next time, have a GREAT time and God bless!

Skin Day

by cartlionel @ Friday, 12. Jan, 2007 - 23:07:56

This deserves another mention..

The Cup of Shirt Championship Round ends TOMORROW NIGHT!!

You have 2 votes, go! Go use them wisely!

1 vote for Freddie
1 vote for Olof

you know it makes sense.

Did I mention that today's pictures feature woman's nipples and a lot of bare flesh??

Leave a comment at the link above to cast your votes. Freddie or Olof must, MUST win this!

Long time, no see!

by cartlionel @ Friday, 12. Jan, 2007 - 15:55:07

It's quite handy having a friend who works for a Croatian newspaper. One day, you're just idly checking your email and bam..! You die.

Goran I Goran I

As Jenner recently said, mmm wish pictures came with audio...

PS. Is it just me or is this blog going all non-football-like? 88|

Hot League Two action!

by ViEiRA @ Friday, 12. Jan, 2007 - 15:52:26

Or more to the point, Hot FA Cup Action! But my point is that unless a lower division team does really well in a cup competition, you can't get a decent piccie of them anywhere. They could be the fittest man alive, but you'll only ever see them in the far distance, kicking a ball or flying through the air with some opponent. Blah.

But Barnet exceeded expectations and are in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup for the first time in their history.

This is good because:

1) They're a local side when I'm at uni
2) They host Arsenal reserve games
3) I like them
4) Goalscoring hero Jason Puncheon looks like this:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This is a prime example of why we should encourage the propagation of lower division knowledge, or more to the point, lower division piccies!

Anyone know a good source of non-tiny minor footballing men?

God bless xx

Most delicious spaghetti

by ViEiRA @ Thursday, 11. Jan, 2007 - 11:59:29

I watched "Good Bye, Lenin!" last night (thank you again John!). A nice quiet evening which soothed away my exam stress nicely.

This film is highly spaghettified, but Cazza would still watch it I think, and this is why.

His name is Daniel Brühl (Fun with umlauts!).

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This is the one where you can see his delicious brown eyes very well.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I've definitely got an eye fetish, and I don't particularly care what colour!

Hope you all enjoyed that and are drooling happily at home.

God bless, Jenni xx

Anti Sweden Day

by cartlionel @ Sunday, 07. Jan, 2007 - 23:00:23

I woke up this morning thinking that the worst thing that would happen was that I'd have to sit through a whole Villa match without any opportunity to drool over my beloved Erik.

Pah.

Oh no, I was just happily checking my emails when Jenni popped up to chat and directed me to a lovely little piece of news from News of the World.

After I'd finished trying to make myself not cry and writing LOTS OF AWFUL THINGS IN CAPITAL LETTERS with too many exclamation marks!!!!! I calmed down enough to hope and pray that it's all a big humongous load of crap with no ounce of truth. At all.

Please. Please. Please. Please.

It's in News of the World for God's Sake!

Shortly after, I got to see Henrik Larsson in a ManUre shirt for the first time. It doesn't suit him and I hope he falls into a Crocodile pit very very soon.

So with Erik suspended, Freddie being shoved out Arsenal's back door and Henrik Larsson's evil alter-ego playing for ManU... Poor Sweden. Is it some special day for them today? Just curious.. ;)

Fit actor man

by ViEiRA @ Sunday, 07. Jan, 2007 - 19:39:29

I watched "Primary Colors" last night (thank you John!) and was much taken with this guy, Adrian Lester. Interesting to find out he's British. Knew I'd seen him somewhere before and that must have been Tv dramas - he was in Hustle.

Sadly married of course... But a bit too old for me (38) so that's OK:) Enjoy!

God bless, Jenni xx

The FA Cup and people with nice accents talking.

by ViEiRA @ Sunday, 07. Jan, 2007 - 19:18:16

Here's the talking;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3t3tuuq_XpE

This one is even NICER:)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKyFJsm9ieg

Topical because he scored. Shame about ManUre. Shame about someone whose piccie will not be featured here anymore scoring. He looks stupid in a Man U shirt. It could put you off ANYBODY.

On a happier note, here's some lovely Arsenal players.

First up is Gael Clichy. He deserves more of a mention on Friends of Ours than he gets.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Next, Thierry, having a very boring experience (well, if hearing Gerrard talk is anything to go by...)

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I couldn't find many drooly piccies of Thierry yesterday, but they interviewed him and Rosicky. So if you enjoyed the earlier dose of Czechness or are one of eleventysquillion Thierry adorers, the BBC website may just be your friend! Haven't checked yet though. Oh, wait:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/video_and_audio/help_guide/4304501.stm

Don't sue if you die!!! (Too late?)

It seems to rain a lot whenever Man City play. It's nice when Samaras gets wet. Haven't managed to find any Corradi or Richards wet, sadly.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

And I wanted Everton to win, but my Benni McCarthy appreciation doesn't fade because of that!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Also, who remembers THIS guy? (left)

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Danny Cadamarteri. I was into him when he was a 16-year-old Everton player although, like most of those, he did score on his debut against Arsenal! :(

Well, I think that's enough drool fuel from me.

God bless, Jenni xx

Free publicity for the Guardian!

by ViEiRA @ Thursday, 04. Jan, 2007 - 14:05:28

Buy today's Guardian. Before it's too late.

This guy. Very close up. Dripping wet.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Now, the reason you have to do it before it's too late is because he is being linked with Chelsea!!!

This cannot be allowed to happen. I hate essays, because they allowed Man Utd to get away with stealing poor Henrik Larsson. I am not going to let my exams let Chelsea get Micah!

What are we going to DO? Suggestions, please?

God bless, Jenni xx

The week's football

by ViEiRA @ Wednesday, 03. Jan, 2007 - 19:19:46

Yielded interesting results. I don't just mean football results, although Thierry's return yielded a great one for Arsenal.

But this is Friends of Ours. So:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Those two smiles are CUTE.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Don't climb Robin van Persie!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Or actually do, it makes for good blogging!

I know Cazza isn't too happy with Darren Bent atm, but he's cute.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

And this shouldn't really thrill anyone, except those who, like me, are waiting anxiously to rescue Drogba. But is this a slash fic in the making?!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

So, what I really want is a piccie of the silly dance Thierry and Emmanuel were doing together last night. But that'll have to wait, 'cos no-one's uploaded it yet! Bring on Liverpool.

God bless, Jenni xx
